Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
